Text, media, and layers

Add text#

Create a text layer, then type the message in its controls. Set the font, size, color, alignment, and position.

Drag the layer on the timeline to choose when it appears. Keep important text away from the frame edge.

Add media#

Import a supported image, video, or audio file. The new item appears as a layer that can be placed and timed.

Saryu links project media on your Mac. Do not delete or move the source while the project needs it.

Arrange layers#

Select a layer before changing it. Move visual layers forward or back when items overlap.

Lock your main arrangement mentally before adding more items. A small number of clear layers is easier to edit and easier to watch.
