Edit on the timeline

Navigate, trim, split, and arrange project tracks.

Move through time

Drag the playhead to inspect a moment. Zoom the timeline in for precise edits and out for the whole project.

Playback follows the current playhead position. Use it to check cuts, audio, captions, and overlays together.

Drag a clip edge to change where it starts or ends. Split at the playhead when you need separate parts.

Delete only the selected part. These edits do not change the original source file.

Video, microphone, system audio, music, captions, text, and media use separate timeline layers. Move an item to change when it appears.

Use the layer order when items overlap. The higher visual layer appears in front.
